Edmundo Garcia
Albert García Baltanas, nacido en Terrassa en 1993, bajo el seudónimo artístico de Edmundo García.
Artista multidisciplinar graduado en pintura por la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Barcelona, donde fue reconocido como alumno destacado en la promoción de 2018 y participó en la exposición 'Sense Títol' ese mismo año.
Cofundador del Centro de creación artística El Corralito y del colectivo Majara Studio. Ambos son espacios y colectivos autogestionados en Terrassa, donde desde 2014 se ha involucrado activamente en la mediación artística y la gestión cultural.
Ha exhibido su obra en exposiciones colectivas en ciudades como Terrassa, Sabadell, Barcelona, Aarhus, Berlín, Budapest o Karlovaks, en espacios como Sala Muncunill, Galería TigoMigo, Sala Soler i Palet o la Galería Art Center Caravel. También participó en festivales como el Festival TNT o C.A.L.L.E., curado por Madrid Street Art Project. Ha realizado programas de residencia en centros artísticos como Godsbanen en Aarhus, Dinamarca, o Konvent Zero en Berga, entre otros. Recientemente ha sido finalista en el premio de pintura Miquel Viladrich de Torrelameu.
Su investigación actual se enfoca entre la pintura, la fotografía y el videoarte, explorando conceptos como señales, migración, nostalgia o el eterno instante. Cuestionando el vínculo entre memoria y experiencia, reflexionando sobre si lo que recuerda es igual a lo que vivió. Su obra refleja la yuxtaposición de experiencia y recuerdo, convirtiéndose en una señal de algo que ya no está presente pero perdura en el tiempo a través de ella.
En enero de 2024 participa en el proyecto de mural colaorativo para mejorar la sala de actividades del espai jove Ullastrell.
Albert García Baltanas, born in Terrassa in 1993, under the artistic pseudonym Edmundo García.
A multidisciplinary artist graduated in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, where he was recognized as an outstanding student in the class of 2018 and participated in the exhibition 'Sense Títol' that same year.
Co-founder of the artistic creation center El Corralito and the Majara Studio collective. Both are self-managed spaces and collectives in Terrassa, where since 2014 he has been actively involved in artistic mediation and cultural management.
He has exhibited his work in collective exhibitions in cities such as Terrassa, Sabadell, Barcelona, Aarhus, Berlin, Budapest, or Karlovaks, in spaces like Sala Muncunill, Galería TigoMigo, Sala Soler i Palet, or the Art Center Caravel Gallery. He also participated in festivals such as the TNT Festival or C.A.L.L.E., curated by the Madrid Street Art Project. He has undertaken residency programs at artistic centers such as Godsbanen in Aarhus, Denmark, or Konvent Zero in Berga, among others. Recently, he was a finalist in the Miquel Viladrich Painting Prize in Torrelameu.
His current research focuses on painting, photography, and video art, exploring concepts such as signals, migration, nostalgia, or the eternal moment. Questioning the link between memory and experience, reflecting on whether what he remembers is equal to what he lived. His work reflects the juxtaposition of experience and memory, becoming a signal of something that is no longer present but persists in time through it.
In January 2024, he participates in a collaborative mural project to enhance the activity room at Espai Jove Ullastrell.
