ESTELLÉS, MURAL PEL DIA MUNDIAL DE LA POESIA
En el marc del Dia Mundial de la Poesia (DMP) promocionat per la Institució de les Lletres Catalanes i la Federació Catalana d’Associacions i Clubs Unesco, B-Murals produeix un mural participatiu de la mà de l'artista Mina Hamada per inaugurar el 21/març a la paret de la Biblioteca Mercé Rodoreda, en homenatge al poeta Valencià Vicent Andrès Estellès.
Es proposa dissenyar sessions participatives en contacte amb l'autor Carles Rebassa i la il·lustradora Mireia Pons, en les quals els participants podran endinsar-se a l'obra del poeta, especialment amb el poema que es va triar (traduït en diferents idiomes).
La participació juga amb metodologies en què detallant i jugant amb l'obra del poeta, els participants reinterpreten, i donen una nova visió molt personal de l'obra en qüestió, i que l'artista muralista agafi aquesta vivència com inspiradora pel seu mural. El mural es durà a terme amb l'ajuda dels participants.
In the context of World Poetry Day promoted by the Institution of Catalan Letters and the Federació Catalana d’Associacions i Clubs Unesco, B-Murals is producing a participatory mural by the artist Mina Hamada to be inaugurated on March 21 on the wall of the Mercé Rodoreda Library, in homage to the Valencian poet Vicent Andrès Estellès.
The proposal is to design participatory sessions in contact with the author Carles Rebassa and illustrator Mireia Pons, in which participants can immerse themselves in the poet's work, especially with the chosen poem (translated into different languages).
This participatory project involves methodologies in which, by detailing and playing with the poet's work, participants reinterpret and provide a very personal new vision of the work in question. The mural artist will take this experience as inspiration for their mural. The mural will be carried out with the help of the participants
Dia Mundial de la Poesia 2024
L’any 1999 la Conferència General de la UNESCO va proclamar el 21 de març Dia Mundial de la Poesia (DMP). Per celebrar ho, des de l’any 2008 la Institució de les Lletres Catalanes i la Federació Catalana d’Associacions i Clubs Unesco promocionen aquesta celebració tant en el nostre domini lingüístic com a la resta d’Europa i del món amb l’elecció d’un poeta i un seu poema per a l’ocasió. Partint d’aquesta composició, la ILC elabora un fullet amb l’original en català i la seva traducció a vint-i-dues llengües, que difon àmpliament, promou l’organització d’accions poètiques, presencials i a través de les xarxes, i organitza un acte central el mateix dia 21. En la dissetena edició del DMP, la ILC ha escollit el poema “m'he estimat molt la vida” de Vicent Andrés Estellés, de qui enguany commemorem el centenari del naixement.
Coincidint amb la data declarada per la UNESCO, la tarda del 21 de març se celebrarà l’acte central del DMP 2024, que tindrà lloc al Hall del CCCB, a Barcelona. Però aquest serà només un dels molts actes i iniciatives que, tant a casa nostra com arreu del món, se celebraran per commemorar aquest dia. Cada any són centenars els ajuntaments, biblioteques, escoles d’ensenyament i escriptura, casals i d’altres institucions i entitats que s’afegeixen a aquesta gran festa mundial de la poesia amb activitats de tota mena. La celebració del Dia Mundial de la Poesia ha experimentat un creixement molt important durant els darrers anys, fins arribar a la mitjana de 250 activitats organitzades tant presencialment com a la xarxa.
World Poetry Day 2024
In 1999, the UNESCO General Conference designated March 21 as World Poetry Day (DMP). To mark this occasion, since 2008, the Institution of Catalan Letters and the Catalan Federation of Associations and UNESCO Clubs have been championing this celebration across our linguistic domain, Europe, and the world. They do so by selecting a poet and one of their poems for the event. The ILC then compiles a pamphlet featuring the original in Catalan and its translation into twenty-two languages, widely sharing it. The initiative also encourages the organization of diverse poetic activities, both in person and online. Additionally, a central event is organized on March 21. In the seventeenth edition of DMP, the ILC has chosen Vicent Andrés Estellés' poem "m'he estimat molt la vida" (I have loved life a lot), commemorating his centenary of birth this year.
On March 21, the main event of DMP 2024 will unfold in the CCCB Hall in Barcelona, coinciding with UNESCO's designated date. However, this is just one of the numerous events and initiatives happening worldwide to celebrate this day. Each year, hundreds of municipalities, libraries, teaching and writing schools, clubs, and other institutions globally join in this grand poetry festival with a variety of activities. The celebration of World Poetry Day has experienced substantial growth, with an average of 250 activities organized both in person and online in recent years.
L’AUTOR
Vicent Andrés Estellés (Burjassot, 1924 - València, 1993), en el centenari del seu naixement.
Considerat el principal renovador de la poesia valenciana contemporània, és també recordat com el poeta més gran que ha donat el País Valencià, del segle XV fins a l'actualitat; és a dir, des de l'època d'Ausiàs March i Roís de Corella.
Dels seus llibres de poesia, destaca el segon volum de l'Obra Completa, Les pedres de l'àmfora, que va rebre els premis Lletra d'Or (1974) i Crítica Serra d'Or (1975). Són remarcables també dos poemaris que descriuen el País Valencià: Llibre de meravelles i Mural del País Valencià. Va rebre el Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes (1978) i el Premi de les Lletres Valencianes (1984). Diversos cantants han musicat poemes seus. D'entre ells, sobresurt Ovidi Montllor amb Coral romput.
THE AUTHOR
Vicent Andrés Estellés (Burjassot, 1924 - Valencia, 1993), on the centenary of his birth.
Considered the primary innovator of contemporary Valencian poetry, he is also remembered as the greatest poet that the Valencian Country has produced from the 15th century to the present day. This spans from the time of Ausiàs March and Roís de Corella.
Among his poetry books, the second volume of the Complete Works stands out, titled "Les pedres de l'àmfora," which received the Lletra d'Or Prize (1974) and the Crítica Serra d'Or Prize (1975). Two other noteworthy collections describing the Valencian Country are "Llibre de meravelles" and "Mural del País Valencià." Estellés was honored with the Prize of Honor of Catalan Letters (1978) and the Prize of Valencian Letters (1984). Several singers have set his poems to music, with Ovidi Montllor's "Coral romput" standing out among them.
L’ACCIÓ COMUNITÀRIA D’UNA PINTURA MURAL
La poesia d’Estellés és d’una vivor i una proximitat tals, que la seva veu es confon amb la del poble, al qual dignifica. Des d’aquesta vessant de poeta popular, com a novetat per al Dia Mundial de la Poesia 2024 es proposa una pintura mural contextualitzada, participativa i comunitària que, inspirada en el poema triat i guiada per Mina Hamada, involucrarà les comunitats lingüístiques i la comunitat educativa del Baix Guinardó.
COMMUNITY ACTION THROUGH A MURAL PAINTING
Estellés' poetry exudes such vitality and closeness that his voice merges with that of the people, elevating them. Embracing this aspect of being a poet for the people, a new initiative for World Poetry Day 2024 proposes a contextualized, participatory, and community-oriented mural painting. Inspired by the chosen poem and guided by Mina Hamada, this project will involve linguistic communities and the educational community of Baix Guinardó.
Amb la voluntat d’incidir positivament en la convivència en l’espai públic i dinamitzar la vida social i cultural de la zona, s’organitzarà un projecte de participació ciutadana en què la poesia esdevindrà art i l’art, un procés de creació col·lectiu.
Serà, per tant, un procés que suposarà la immersió per part de tots els participants tant en l’obra literària i el seu autor com en la realitat multilingüe de l’entorn, per establir, així, una vinculació directa i activa entre artista i societat, entre patrimoni i territori. Faria sentit, doncs, poder-hi incorporar algun element vinculat a les comunitats lingüístiques del barri que parlen algunes de les vint-i-dues llengües de traducció del poema.
Amb aquesta iniciativa, una vegada més, la cultura s’oferirà com un vehicle de coneixement i respecte mutus, com un motor de cohesió social i igualtat d’oportunitats i, en definitiva, com una eina d’integració i transformació social. De futur.
With the intention of positively influencing coexistence in public spaces and energizing the social and cultural life of the area, a citizen participation project will be organized where poetry will become art, and art will be a collective creative process.
Therefore, it will be a process involving the immersion of all participants not only in the literary work and its author but also in the multilingual reality of the environment. This aims to establish a direct and active connection between the artist and society, heritage, and the territory. It would make sense, therefore, to incorporate an element linked to the linguistic communities of the neighborhood that speak some of the twenty-two languages in which the poem is translated.
With this initiative, once again, culture will be presented as a vehicle for mutual understanding and respect, a driver of social cohesion and equal opportunities, and ultimately, a tool for social integration and transformation. For the future.
L’ESPAI
La Biblioteca Guinardó - Mercè Rodoreda es va inaugurar l'11 d'abril de 1999 en un edifici de nova construcció, dissenyat per l'arquitecte Màrius Quintana, que és al recinte del parc de les Aigües, al districte d'Horta-Guinardó. Rep el nom de Mercè Rodoreda per la iniciativa del Districte de posar als nous equipaments públics noms de dones significatives del món cultural, social i polític. Des de l'any 2001 forma part del Consorci de Biblioteques de la ciutat de Barcelona, tal com queda establert en el Pla de biblioteques de Barcelona 1998-2010.
El fons especialitzat de poesia de la Biblioteca posa al nostre abast més de set mil poemaris, estudis, biografies, revistes especialitzades, audiollibres i enregistraments de poesia musicada. El fons pretén oferir una selecció diversa i representativa de la poesia d’arreu del món. Sense renunciar als clàssics, posa l'accent en la poesia contemporània, i molt especialment en l’obra de poetes relacionats amb la ciutat de Barcelona.
THE SPACE
The Guinardó - Mercè Rodoreda Library was inaugurated on April 11, 1999, in a newly constructed building designed by architect Màrius Quintana. It is located within the precinct of Parc de les Aigües, in the Horta-Guinardó district. The library is named after Mercè Rodoreda as part of the District's initiative to give new public facilities names of significant women in the cultural, social, and political realms. Since 2001, it has been part of the Consortium of Libraries of the city of Barcelona, as established in the Barcelona Library Plan 1998-2010.
The specialized poetry collection of the library provides access to over seven thousand volumes, including poetry collections, studies, biographies, specialized magazines, audiobooks, and recordings of musical poetry. The collection aims to offer a diverse and representative selection of poetry from around the world. While not neglecting the classics, it emphasizes contemporary poetry, especially the works of poets associated with the city of Barcelona.
LA METODOLOGIA DE TREBALL
El procés s’iniciarà amb un acostament de l’artista al barri en qüestió per conèixer l'entorn i la seva cultura i aconseguir, així, que el mural s’integri en l’espai i els veïns se’l sentin seu.
A banda de l’artista, intervindran en aquest projecte:
Un dinamitzador literari, Carles Rebassa, que facilitarà l’acostament al poeta i el poema escollits i la comprensió d’aquests.
Carles Rebassa (Palma, 1977) és autor de Poema B, Els joves i les vídues (Premi de poesia Ausiàs March 2006), Pluja de foc, Sons bruts (Premi Carles Riba 2018) i El Caire Formentera (Premi de poesia Sant Cugat a la memòria de Gabriel Ferrater 2022). També és autor de dues novel·les: Eren ells (Premi Ciutat de Tarragona 2016 i Premi Ciutat de Barcelona 2016) i Divendres, dissabte, diumenge, que publicarà Editorial Empúries properament.
Una mediadora artística, proposada per B-Murals, que pensarà i prepararà l’activitat de participació per relacionar la poesia amb l’art mural.
Mireia Pons, il.lustradora i dibuixant de Barcelona. Tot i que la seva passió és la il.lustració infantil, col.labora en diferents projectes de tot tipus comunicant sempre a través del dibuix. Paral.lelament a la seva feina com a il.lustradora treballa amb diferents entitats culturals, festivals i empreses com a mediadora i educadora artística. Juntament amb la dibuixant Clara-Tanit, va creat “Les Rupestres”, impartint tot tipus d'activitat a partir de tres pilars importants: el dibuix, el joc i el cos.
“El dibuix ens permet entendre el món que ens envolta, fixar-nos en com són i com funcionen les coses i entendre'ns també molt millor a nosaltres mateixos. No deixem mai de dibuixar!”
Un ajudant de la mediadora artística, també proposta per B-Murals, per donar-li suport en les sessions amb els grups dels IES.
Sis grups de treball que participaran en el projecte, rebent sessions poètiques i artístiques i presentant propostes creatives, a partir de les quals l’artista dissenyarà un esbós del mural.
WORK METHODOLOGY
The process will commence with the artist familiarizing themselves with the neighborhood to understand its environment and culture. This approach aims to ensure that the mural integrates seamlessly into the space, making the residents feel a sense of ownership.
In addition to the artist, the following individuals will be involved in this project:
Literary Facilitator: Carles Rebassa, who will facilitate an understanding of the chosen poet and poem.

Artistic Mediator: teaming up with B-Murals, she will conceive and prepare participation activities to connect poetry with mural art.
Mireia Pons, an illustrator and artist from Barcelona, is deeply passionate about children's illustration. Despite her primary focus on illustrating for children, she collaborates on various projects of diverse nature, always communicating through her drawings. In addition to her work as an illustrator, she collaborates with different cultural entities, festivals, and companies as a mediator and art educator. Together with the artist Clara-Tanit, she co-created "Les Rupestres," engaging in various activities based on three essential pillars: drawing, play, and the body.
"Drawing allows us to understand the world around us, observe how things are and how they work, and also understand ourselves much better. Let's never stop drawing!"
An assistant to the artistic mediator, also proposed by B-Murals, will provide support in sessions with high school groups.
Six working groups will participate in the project, receiving poetic and artistic sessions and presenting creative proposals. Based on these, the artist will design a sketch for the mural.
Hi haurà dues trobades prèvies entre l’artista, el dinamitzador literari, la mediadora artística i B-Murals per plantejar conjuntament tota la feina:
1a: formació poètica i preparació de projecte amb primer contacte i intercanvi d’idees.
2a: concreció conjunta del desenvolupament de l’activitat.
La mediadora artística recollirà totes les idees creatives dels grups de treball i les traslladarà a l’artista, a qui serviran d’inspiració per acabar de projectar la imatge que finalment es pintarà en el mural. D’aquesta manera, l’acció de l’artista, que es tornarà una obra col·lectiva que propiciarà un vincle de proximitat i afecte envers el barri.
Es contempla la possibilitat que un dels dies que duri l’acció alguns representant dels grups participants puguin pintar la part inferior de la paret (en funció de la quantitat de participants i la seva edat).
There will be two prior meetings between the artist, the literary facilitator, the artistic mediator, and B-Murals to jointly plan the entire project:
1st: Poetic training and project preparation with the first contact and exchange of ideas.
2nd: Joint determination of the activity's development.
The artistic mediator will gather all the creative ideas from the working groups and convey them to the artist, which will serve as inspiration to finalize the image that will ultimately be painted on the mural. This way, the artist's action will become a collective work that fosters a sense of proximity and affection towards the neighborhood.
There is also the possibility that, during the duration of the project, representatives from the participating groups may paint the lower part of the wall on one of the days (depending on the number of participants and their age).
