Osona Art i Mur es un proyecto impulsado por Osona Turisme, dirigido por Transit Projectes, curado y producido por B-Murals., para crear una nueva línea de valor patrimonial en cinco pueblos rurales de Osona a través del arte en espacio público.

MURAL INTERVENTIONS IN SANT JULIÀ DE VILATORTA

 

ANA BARRIGA

 
 

Ana Barriga es la artista española contemporánea con más proyeccion internacional en los últimos años, afincada en Londres e invitada en Sant Julia por su relación estrecha con la cerámica y por su visión única en relación con el tema.  

“La obra de Ana B. se enfoca en recrear estos objetos de cerámica vintage típicos de los mercadillos y las casas antiguas, con un torno humorístico e irreverente. Se intenta centrar en entornos divertidos, lugares compartidos entre niños y artistas donde se dejan atras los prejuicios y afloran las partes más inesperadas de nosotros mismos.” - Ana Barriga Studio  

Este mural, ubicado en una pared central de Sant Julia, se inscribe en una línea de trabajo muy propia de la artista: una vez más Ana Barriga lleva la porcelana al espacio público con una visión simpática, incluyendo elementos nuevos y frescos a su trabajo. 

La obra ha sido fuente de debates dentro de la comunidad local, en torno a la plaza y el lugar del arte urbano contemporáneo en un contexto rural. Este mural en Sant Julia rompe con los canones tradicionales y los retratos clásicos de la cerámica y da un paso hacia una visión contemporánea y modernizada.

Ana Barriga is a Spanish artist based in London with an international career, invited to Sant Julia for her close relationship with ceramics and her unique vision on the subject.  

“Ana Barriga’s work focuses on recreating these antique ceramic objects, vintage porcelain typical of flea markets and old houses, with a humorous and irreverent take. She tries to focus on fun environments, places shared between children and artists where prejudices are left behind and the most unexpected parts of ourselves emerge.” - Ana Barriga Studio

This mural, located on a central wall of Sant Julia, is part of a line of work very characteristic of the artist: once again Ana Barriga brings porcelain to the public space with a sympathetic vision, including new and fresh elements to her work. 

The work has been a source of debate within the local community about the square and the place of contemporary urban art in a rural context. This mural in Sant Julia breaks with traditional canons and classic ceramic portraits and takes a step towards a contemporary and modernized vision.

 

MARTA LAPEÑA

 
 

Marta Lapeña es una artista muralista cuya obra se dedica en recrear estéticas de la vida cotidiana, enfocadas principalmente en la composición, el color y la luz. El tema propuesto para los murales de Sant Julià de Vilatorta es el folclore y la artesania local. Marta Lapeña eligió en este mural crear una composición a partir de la artesanía local y algunas de las piezas cerámicas de referencia del pueblo, asi como el mural cerámico tan sugerente que recoge su ayuntamiento.

A nivel de colorimetria, la artista toma como punto de partida los materiales y colores de la arquitectura que rodea su pared para crear una composición que se entegra en su entorno, y aporta color y vivacidad al conjunto arquitectónico en el cual se enmarca.  

Marta Lapeña is a mural artist whose work is dedicated to recreate aesthetics of everyday life, focusing mainly on composition, color and light. The theme proposed for the murals of Sant Julià de Vilatorta is folklore and local craftsmanship. In this mural, Marta Lapeña chose to create a composition based on local crafts with some of the ceramic pieces of reference of the village, as well as the ceramic mural so evocative displayed on the townhall facade. 

As for colorimetry, the artist takes the materials and colors of the architecture surrounding her wall as a starting point to create a composition that integrates into its environment, bringing color and liveliness to the architectural ensemble in which it is framed.

 

MATEU TARGA, MURAL CON PROCESO PARTICIPATIVO

 
 

El artista catalán Mateu Targa produjo un muro participativo con los alumnos de la escuela de Sant Julia. En una primera sesión en el aula los alumnos han podido acercarse a la obra y técnica de Mateu Targa y reflexionar en el tema propuesto por Sant Julia; “Les Caramelles” y el folclore local, antes de participar en la creación del mural. 

En el proceso de pintar el fondo de la pared con los alumnos, se generaron manchas efímeras preciosas y al final quedó una base del color que el azar quiso que fuera, al mezclar los que el artista les había propuesto. 

Con esa base, y a partir de las reflexiones conducidas en el aula, Mateu Targa pintó encima el retrato de una mujer con el vestido tradicionalmente masculino del folclore local. Con la androginia del personaje así creado, el objetivo es generar dudas con el género de la persona retratada y debate entre la gente del pueblo sobre el sentido de la segregación sexual en las celebraciones populares.

“Este pequeño mural pretende ser un canto, como el canto tradicional de los hombres de este pueblo, pero esta vez la voz va a cambiar. Esperemos que en el futuro aún lo haga más y que los nuevos brotes, las nuevas ideas (y no tan nuevas..), puedan convivir con la herencia cultural y adaptarla al hoy.” - Mateu Targa

Catalan artist Mateu Targa produced a participatory wall with the students of the Sant Julia school. In the first session in the classroom, the students were able to approach the work and technique of Mateu Targa and reflect on the theme proposed by Sant Julia; “Les Caramelles” and local folklore, before participating in the creation of the mural.  

In the process of painting and mixing the colours proposed by the artist, the students created precious ephemeral stains that generated a base of colour for the mural. 

With that background, and from the reflections conducted in the classroom, Mateu Targa painted over the portrait of a woman with the traditional male dress of local folklore. With the androgyny of the character thus created, the aim is to generate doubts with the gender of the person portrayed and debate among the townspeople, about the sense of sexual segregation in popular celebrations.

"This small mural is intended to be a chant, like the traditional songs of the men of this town, but this time the voice will change. Let's hope that in the future it will do so even more and that the new shoots, the new ideas (and not so new..), can coexist with the cultural heritage and adapt it to today." - Mateu Targa
