Alberto Montes

Alberto Montes (Los Corrales, Sevilla, 1995), graduado en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Sevilla y con un Máster de Producción Artística Interdisciplinar por la Universidad de Málaga es un artista plástico que ha participado en proyectos como la II Bienal Universitaria Andaluza de Arte Contemporáneo (BIUNIC, 2017), CREENÇA (Cal Rosal, 2018), HOMELESS (Miami, 2018), Void Projects Residency (Nueva York, 2019), recibiendo varios premios donde se destaca 1° Medalla de Oro de la beca El Paular (Segovia, 2017) y 1° Premio CREA JOVEN (Sevilla, 2018). Participando en numerosas exposiciones colectivas, así como en festivales de arte urbano a nivel internacional, su obra se caracteriza por ser una investigación plástica que indaga en la configuración de la imagen pictórica a través de la concepción del paisaje y la memoria del territorio, principalmente. Una propuesta que incita a la pausa, a la contemplación y reflexión. Procurando énfasis en el cuestionamiento de la imagen pintada, haciéndola dudar a través del proceso pictórico por medio de la descontextualización o desfamiliarización, abriendo así nuevas líneas de investigación en cuanto a la percepción y lenguaje de la pintura contemporánea.

Con B-Murals, Alberto Montes participó en el festival Osona Art i Mur en Sant Bartomeu del Grau.

Alberto Montes (Los Corrales, Seville, 1995), graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville and with a Master in Interdisciplinary Artistic Production from the University of Malaga is a visual artist who has participated in projects such as the II Andalusian University Biennial of Contemporary Art (BIUNIC, 2017), CREENÇA (Cal Rosal, 2018), HOMELESS (Miami, 2018), Void Projects Residency (New York, 2019), receiving several awards where stands out 1st Gold Medal of the scholarship El Paular (Segovia, 2017) and 1st Prize CREA JOVEN (Seville, 2018). Participating in numerous group exhibitions, as well as in international urban art festivals, his work is characterised by a plastic research that investigates the configuration of the pictorial image through the conception of the landscape and the memory of the territory.

A proposal that encourages to pause, contemplate and reflect. Questioning the painted image through the pictorial process by means of decontextualisation or defamiliarisation, thus opening up new lines of research into the perception and language of contemporary painting.
