Marta Lapeña (Soria, 1993)

Artista plástica y muralista. Vive y trabaja en Madrid. Tras graduarse en Arquitectura de Interiores por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, decide por vocación entregarse a la pintura y a la investigación de diferentes técnicas, centrándose más adelante en la concepción y desarrollo de proyectos artísticos, sociales y personales. Su obra se sitúa entre la pintura y el muralismo, a veces materializada en proyectos específicos y otras en propuestas más experimentales. Su trabajo está innatamente influenciado por experiencias de la vida cotidiana, personas que ha conocido, el entorno que le rodea y los temas sociales que le preocupan.

Las obras de Marta Lapeña (Soria, 1993) recrean escenas cotidianas que sugieren calma y sosiego, en contraposición con un mundo actual lleno de sobreinformación y estímulos visuales. Distracciones que influyen tanto a la hora de observar y sentir como de crear con calma desde la parte más instintiva y natural del ser humano. Este es el punto de partida de la artista: su instinto. Con él muta los niveles de realidad a los que estamos constantemente sometidos y convierte la pintura en una vía de escape y en un medio para evocar su propia realidad.

Encontrar la belleza en lo que nos rodea y definir el momento simplemente con objetos a través de la pintura son las dos grandes obsesiones de Marta Lapeña. Sus composiciones, generadas a partir de elementos que ella misma encuentra, recoge y fotografía, reúnen ciertas características que las hacen únicas: el momento (la luz), el lugar (el espacio) y sus patrones estéticos (la visión), tres constantes en su proceso creativo. Tanto la técnica como la composición nunca dejan de ser una preocupación en sus obras, en una búsqueda constante de la armonía, donde combina además dos mundos diferentes bajo un mismo proceso: el lienzo y el muro; la calle y el estudio. De ahí su inclinación por el gran formato y por la síntesis del color, clara influencia de su formación como arquitecta de interiores, reflejada en las composiciones e integración en el entorno.

“Alejando estas composiciones de los patrones clásicos o establecidos y dejándome llevar por la estética que funciona ante mis ojos, todo es reemplazable. Nada es fijo ni predecible».

Marta Lapeña (Soria, 1993)

Visual artist and muralist. Lives and works in Madrid. After graduating in Interior Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, she decided to devote herself to her vocation: painting and technical research, later focusing on the conception and development of artistic, social and personal projects. Her work is situated between painting and muralism, sometimes materialised in specific projects and other times in more experimental proposals. Her work is innately influenced by everyday life experiences, the people she has met, the environment that surrounds her and the social issues that concern her.

The works of Marta Lapeña (Soria, 1993) recreate everyday scenes that suggest calm and tranquillity, in contrast to a current world full of over-information and visual stimuli. Distractions that influence both when observing and feeling and when creating calmly from the most instinctive and natural part of the human being. This is the artist's starting point: her instinct. With it she mutates the levels of reality to which we are constantly subjected and turns painting into an escape route and a means to evoke her own reality.

Finding beauty in what surrounds us and defining the moment simply with objects through painting are Marta Lapeña's two great obsessions. Her compositions, generated from elements that she finds, collects and photographs herself, bring together certain characteristics that make them unique: the moment (light), the place (space) and her aesthetic patterns (vision), three constants in her creative process. Both technique and composition never cease to be a concern in his works, in a constant search for harmony, where she also combines two different worlds under the same process: the canvas and the wall; the street and the studio. Hence her inclination for the large format and for the synthesis of colour, a clear influence of her training as an interior architect, reflected in the compositions and their integration into the environment.

"Moving these compositions away from classical or established patterns and letting myself be carried away by the aesthetics that work in my eyes, everything is replaceable. Nothing is fixed or predictable.”
